If you have many contact lists, you may want to organize them into groups. Doing this may help you keep track of your contacts.

When you start working with Adenzo, all contact lists are associated with the Default group, but you can make groups as needed and include various contact lists in each group.

A contact list cannot be in more than one group.

To create a contact list group:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Contact Lists.
  2. At the top of the Contact Lists page, click the Contact List Groups button.
  3. At the top of the Contact Lists Groups page, click the + New Lists Group button.
  4. In the Lists Group dialog, type a name in the Group Name box.
  5. If you wish, type a short description in the Description box.
  6. Click Save.

If you have an existing contact list group, you can duplicate it to create a new group. The new group has the same name as the original except with “(duplicated)” added. Its details are the same, and it includes the same contact lists.

To duplicate an existing contact list group:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Contact Lists.
  2. At the top of the Contact Lists page, click the Contact List Groups button.
  3. Scroll to the group to duplicate.
  4. In the row for that contact list group, on the right, click the Duplicate button, Duplicate button.

Once you’ve created contact list groups, you can re-arrange them by dragging rows on the Contact List Groups page. You can also sort the lists by specifying a sort order, such as Name or Date Created, in the Sort by list.

Adding and Viewing Contact Lists in a Group

To add a contact list to a group:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Contact Lists.
  2. At the top of the Contact Lists page, click the Contact List Groups button.
  3. If necessary, scroll until you see the group you want.
  4. In the row for that contact group, click the Add List to Group button, Add button, on the right.
  5. In the List dialog, specify the List Name, Description, and the contact type. (See Working with Contact Lists for details.)
    Because you’re adding the list to a specific group, Adenzo indicates that group in the List dialog.
  6. Click Save.
You can also add a list from the Contact Lists page, but then you have to specify the group in the List dialog.

To view the contact lists in a group:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Contact Lists.
  2. At the top of the Contact Lists page, click the Contact List Groups button.
  3. If necessary, scroll until you see the group you want to view.
  4. On the right side of the row for the group, click the View Lists in Group button, View Lists in Group button.

Removing Contact Lists or Contact List Groups

After adding a contact list to a group you may decide to remove that list from that group.

You cannot delete a list that has contacts in it. To do so, delete the contacts first.

To remove a contact list from a group:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Contact Lists.
  2. At the top of the Contact Lists page, click the Contact List Groups button.
  3. If necessary, scroll until you see the group you want to view.
  4. On the right side of the row for the group, click the View Lists in Group button, View Lists in Group button.
  5. If necessary, scroll until you see the contact list you want to adjust.
  6. On the right side of the row for the contact list, click the Delete button, Delete button.
  7. In the confirmation message, click OK.

You may decide to delete an entire contact group.

You cannot delete a group that has contact lists in it. To do so, delete the contact lists first.

To delete a contact kist group:

  1. In the left navigation bar, click Contact Lists.
  2. At the top of the Contact Lists page, click the Contact List Groups button.
  3. If necessary, scroll until you see the group you want to delete.
  4. On the right side of the row for the group, click the Delete button, Delete button.
  5. In the confirmation message, click OK.
